Great new jazz-community resource
The Jazzy 1 is a great place to hang out. Music playing in the lounge all the time. News about festivals and recordings. Special deals on stuff. Discussion forums.

Decent link. Thanks. The Information Age sure beats the Bronze Age, if not the Age of Reason (an era in which events such as the French Revolution and movements such as The Enlightenment spawned religious, cultural, and political upheavals that have not ceased to reverberate).
Ahh, that Jazz Age…

RIP WYJC Smooth Jazz
From yesterday’s Indy Star at http://www.indystar.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=2007710140351
A snippet: “The truth is, the more we, the listeners, turn on a Web radio station, an iPod, XM or Sirius, the more broadcasters have to make decisions about their programming that we may not like. So, in one week, younger listeners went from being mad about losing Indianapolis’ only top 40 station to ecstatic that their beloved DJs might return with WNOU. Also, in a week, older listeners went from being elated about an expanded WIBC to angry about losing WYJZ. One listener called WYJZ’s demise a “disgrace” and was seriously thinking about a petition. WNOU fans had one going on MySpace less than a day after Emmis killed the station.
“It’s actually been kind of overwhelming that people haven’t forgotten about us already,” said Nigel Laskowski, a former DJ at WNOU.”
