Is Britain regaining its senses?

It would seem so, in light of the election results which, among other things, ousted Red Ken Livingstone as London mayor.

Dare we hope for such a reawakening here before November?

Yeah, just wait till we vote all the bums out over here too.

How I wish Fred Thompson had put a little more oomph into his campaign.

Yeah, look what Obama did with a whole lot of oomph.

Following an unsuccessful bid for a seat in the U.S. House of Representatives in 2000, he announced his campaign for U.S. Senate in January 2003. After winning a landslide primary victory in March 2004 to become the Democratic nominee for U.S. Senate, Obama delivered the keynote address at the Democratic National Convention in July 2004. He was elected to the U.S. Senate in November 2004 with 70% of the vote.

Never forget this is just a kid. Amazing what spin and oomph can do for a guy, here in this America of ours. Heck, he doesn’t even need make-up to look healthy. Did I just say that?
