Eddy Arnold, RIP
He made warm, human, unmistakably American music and he was a classy gentleman, which is to say he represented a vanishing breed. Preceeded in passing by his wife of 66 years by two months, which I always take as an indication of inseparable soulmates.

What’s he doin’ in that world? I wondered whether you would eulogize him here. A wrinkled old white ass passes. (see Buddy Guy, oh, you already saw him, in person)

Actually, he must have lived a pretty clean lifestyle. He looked remarkably wrinke-free in recent photos.
