A refreshingly forthright and confident conservative conversation
Larry Kudlow interviews Alaska governor Sarah Palin. This is the stuff that can win elections. This is the stuff that can rescue America and Western civilization.

Well I guess she would know and since she is hugely popular up there, must be stating the will of the peoples in that back yard. Can you blame us for distrusting the Bushites? They said there were WMDs. There were none found. They say there is oil in ANWR and elsewhere off our shores and in Colorado shale. Bad bad people like Stalinists here say there isn’t. I would think that most of the American people would certainly prefer to kill a buncha big fat blue flies than a buncha sand nigs if we can get at that black gold. Then we might be able to ignore the sand nigs who fight rather than bite back. And, with the Dick precedent, this Veep might have some real power, and, given McCain’s age, might be riding the big horse before the term’s out. We are keeping close watch on McCain’s visible skin growths. The debate will require reasonable gentlepersons, no? The masses want cheap oil! Now!

The Dow, which tallies fear and greed on a daily basis, sure took a hit yesterday, down to its lowest level in two years, the headlines say because of the $140 OIL SPIKE (yikes!). Not at all to be confused with that Tao where things truly manage to work themselves out, sans fear, sans greed. Just the way of things we get in the way of, here. now and everywhere. Practically speaking, however, we still think we’re the cat’s meow, and as long as we think that, we will continue to get what we’ve always gotten: boom/bust, ups and downs and all-arounds. Some will thrive, some will pay, as long as greed and fear rule the day. Spout the prosperity Gospel all you will, this way leads to nothing but ill. (see sayings of Jesus, as reported in 4 approved Gospels.) I fully expect you to call my hand, to make me become a man and take a stand. Republican or Democrat, Capitalist or
Communist, Freedom-hater or…..?

One moment, please. We ain’t into no prosperity gospel here at BN. We are into prosperity and we are into the Gospel. God wants us to live well, it’s true, but only in a context where abiding by His will comes first.

As exposited in that Sermon on the Mount then, unless a whole lot was lost in translation, the meek shall inherit the earth. Something in there about peacemakers, the poor in spirit, too. No greed, no fear, just a grand (?) paradox. Beyond freedom and dignity even.
