The fear and rage all over America today are palpable.

    Yep, most palpable regarding the economy and war, both of which soured under the Repubbies.

    Excuse me, after the W tax cuts went into effect, we had years of growth. We’ve been over many times the causes of the downturn.
    And we’ve also settled here in these comment threads the matter of the wars. they were necessary in a post-9/11 world, given the safe haven al-Qaeda had in Afghanistan and Saddam Hussein’s track record in the middle east.
    This hard-left tactic of going back to the Pub years is looking more ridiculous by the day to the American people. It’s why they are coming to see TCM as a very immature whiner.

    The downturn, which is much more than a downturn, happened on W’s watch. Deny it if you will, but the sour economy is the main reason for the fear and rage, even that of the Tea Partiers. Somebody rained-out our party. Glad you put cause in the plural there. Nobody trusts anyone anymore, nationally and internationally, and just why is that? The movers/shakers, MBAs, and such, they turned out to be clueless, as did the Federal Reserve. That was a false prosperity generated by one of the largest economic bubble in history. I may not like Obama, but I defend his position as freely elected Chief Executive of this nation and its Commander in Chief. I certainly don’t trust the guys that came before him. Tried, found very very lacking, let’s move on….
